In team news the Foxes have neither Matty James or Matthew Upson available who have picked up shin and foot injuries, while Arsenal will arrive at the King Power Stadium without Kieran Gibbs, Olivier Giroud or Mikel Arteta, who will all miss the game through injury. Aaron Ramsey has returned from a one-game ban in Europe however David Ospina may not yet be fully match fit.

Giroud will be the source of some Gunners blues as he undergoes surgery on a broken leg, casting doubt on the rest of their season as well as resting many hopes on the shoulders of new boy Alexis Sanchez whose goal against Besiktas in the Champions League earlier in the week may well have saved Arsenal’s blushes as well as a cool Ł25 million in TV money.

Arsenal are clearly heavy favourites to win today, after being an ever-present in the top flight and indeed in Europe over the last decade and a half. A key player for Arsenal today is likely to be Theo Walcott whose pace and trickery may prove to be too much for the inexperienced Foxes. Leicester were beaten 2-0 at Chelsea, the gulf in class between the Premier League new boys and Premier League old boys clearly evident.

Expect the King Power Stadium to be a cauldron of noise and the atmosphere to be humming when the Gunners come to town. Even should Leicester park the bus today, Arsenal are expected to do the business with a scoreline predicted at 3-0.
