Germany will go in to Monday morning’s World Cup Final as the hot favourite after rival Argentina managed only to scrape past the Netherlands in a disappointing second semi-final that was decided by a penalty shootout.
Online bookie Sportingbet.com.au makes Germany it’s $1.70 favourite to win the World Cup, with Argentina the $2.25 outsiders.
“Germany’s emphatic semi-final win over Brazil will give them the mental and physical edge over Argentina, who displayed a serious lack of attacking flair against the Netherlands,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
“We anticipate that Germany will be strongly supported by both big and small punters over the coming days.”
In match betting, Germany is $2.25 to win the final in normal time with Argentina $3 and a draw $2.85.
