Footballer El-Hadji Diouf will face no charges over a nightclub brawl.
The 31-year-old was arrested following a fight at the Circle Club in Manchester city centre in the early hours of April 15.
Premier League defender Anton Ferdinand, 27, was also questioned by police about the incident and was released without charge.
Doncaster Rovers striker Diouf was among six men arrested by officers investigating the matter which left a 33-year-old man needing hospital treatment for head and neck injuries.
The former Bolton Wanderers, Liverpool and Rangers player was a teammate of Ferdinand at Sunderland.
Three other men have been charged in connection with the fight, police said.
