Clarke to replace Hodgson at West Brom

English Premier League side West Brom appointed former Liverpool assistant Steve Clarke as coach on Friday on a two-year deal.

Clarke replaces England manager Roy Hodgson, who left the club at the end of last season.

Before Liverpool, Clarke was assistant coach at Newcastle, Chelsea and West Ham.

West Brom finished 10th in the Premier League last season.

“From the outset, we decided to pursue candidates who are renowned for their coaching ability,” West Brom director Dan Ashworth said.

“Steve was very much at the forefront of our thoughts because of the clubs he has worked at and the high regard he is held in within the game.”
