After having scored four goals already the Premier league this season, blues fans are understandably looking to him as their new Didier Drogba. However lethal his finishing, the striker has constantly had niggles and small injuries to shrug off over the last months. However, all is not lost should Costa not put in an appearance this weekend, with blues coach José Mourinho able to turn to new signing Loic Remy or indeed blues hero Didier Drogba who hasn’t yet been handed a start since his much-acclaimed return to the club.

In the opponent dressing room, Swansea began their season with a win at Premier league hasbeens Manchester United, leaving Old Trafford reeling with a 2-1 scoreline. The Swans have had a dream start to the season recording wins against West Brom, Rotherham in the Capital One Cup and Burnley. So far this season Ashley Williams has led his backline well, forming a fledgling partnership with Jordi Amat that has seen Federico Fernandez unable to debut for his new club. Tom Carroll also remains frozen out after his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has come back to Swansea with a bang, exerting massive influence on his midfield since returning to the Swans. Reported Liverpool FC target Wilfried Bony is still to score in the fledgling season, while strike partner Bafetimbi Gomis also remains goal shy. Swansea will need to draw on all their experience and exhibit all of their renowned passing flair if they are to stand a chance at the fortress known as Stamford Bridge this weekend.

José Mourinho has a fantastic line up to choose from with Eden Hazard and Diego Costa, who were both withdrawn from international duty in the week returning to duty, while his midfield looks equally lethal with Willian and Schurrle both readily available and both looking keen. Add that to a list of names including Mata, Oscar and Luiz and Chelsea really do look unstoppable, not to mention the home advantage that has seen Chelsea virtually unbeaten at the Bridge in over two years.

Chelsea have been touted as Premier league favourites this season, even though current champions Manchester city can boast a bench with a value in excess of Ł150 million. José Mourinho has become a talisman since his return to the helm at Chelsea, his trademark humour infectious towards hundreds of thousands of adoring Chelsea fans. However effective his lineup, he will take this game as seriously as any other, affording respect to a Swansea side packed with attacking talent.
His opposite number, Garry Monk would probably take a point before the game, but will be hoping his two misfiring strikers will be able to get on the scoresheet this weekend.
