Nucifora set for Ireland rugby position

Australian David Nucifora will be unveiled as the Irish Rugby Football Union’s new performance director.

The IRFU confirmed that 52-year-old Nucifora will attend a press conference in Dublin on Thursday alongside the union’s chief executive Philip Browne.

Brisbane-born Nucifora has previously served as the Australian Rugby Union’s high performance manager.

He won two caps for Australia during the early 1990s, while he coached the Canberra-based Brumbies to the 2004 Super Rugby title and worked as technical adviser with the Auckland Blues before being appointed head coach in 2006.
