Wallabies back Kurtley Beale is ready to step up and accept the challenge from NSW Waratahs coach Daryl Gibson to show more leadership.
Beale, who enjoyed a strong Rugby World Cup campaign, was one of a few players earmarked for greater responsibility by Gibson following the departure of several key veterans including Adam Ashley-Cooper, Sekope Kepu and Wycliff Palu.
Utility back Beale is spending part of the Super Rugby off-season on Sydney to Hobart boat Perpetual LOYAL which is competing in Tuesday’s Big Boat Challenge.
