Star centre Kurtley Beale has been stretchered off in the opening minute of the NSW Waratahs’ Super Rugby clash with the Bulls in Sydney.

A day after signing a multi-million-dollar two-year deal to join Wasps in England, Beale landed awkwardly on his left knee on Saturday evening on the newly laid surface at Allianz Stadium in a major blow for the Waratahs.

He was unable to continue and was replaced at inside centre by David Horwitz.
