Beale begins to pay his $45k fine

Troubled Wallabies star Kurtley Beale has begun to pay his dues, ponying up the cash for the first instalment of his $45,000 fine.

An Australian Rugby Union spokeswoman said, while the ARU do not comment on specific payment schedules, the first instalment of Beale’s $45,000 fine had been made.

The proceeds of the fine will go to assist indigenous girls and women through the Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Team’s “Strong Sistas” program, the ARU announced on Wednesday.

Beale was issued the fine by an independent code of conduct tribunal in relation to an offensive image Beale sent to former team business manager Di Patston.
