Torah Bright is once again Australia’s best hope of winning gold at the Winter Olympics, with online bookmaker sportsbet pricing her as the $2.50 favourite to win the Snowboard – Halfpipe event.
She is only one of two Aussies who are outright favourites, with Alex Pullin also priced as the $3.75 favourite to win the Snowboard – Cross event.
Flag bearer favourite Lydia Lassila is considered a $13 shot to defend her gold in the Aerial event while fellow Aussies Danielle Scott ($17), Laura Peel ($23) and Samantha Wells ($26) are also in with a chance.
Overall it looks to be a relatively successful campaign for Australia, priced at $1.40 to win at least one gold medal and $1.72 to win at least four medals in total.
Jana Pittman’s transition to the ice may not result in much success, with $41 priced for her to win the Bobsleigh Two Women event. While Dale Begg-Smith may also be looking to duck the media on the way home as well, priced at big odds of $151 to win the Freestyle Skiing Mens Mogul.
