Wests Tigers commit to Leichhardt Oval

The Wests Tigers have confirmed their three remaining NRL games at Leichhardt Oval will go ahead this season.

After the Balmain side of the joint venture forfeited the lease of the suburban venue in March, the club had previously only committed to hosting games against Canberra in round seven and Gold Coast in round 13.

But after meeting last night, the board released a statement on Friday saying that there will be at least three more games at the iconic oval.

“The Wests Tigers Board met last night and reconfirmed the decision that the club made at the beginning of the 2015 season to play four NRL games at Leichhardt Oval this year,” the Tigers said in a statement.

“Leichhardt Oval has provided the club with many memorable moments and Wests Tigers look forward to seeing Members, Corporate Partners and fans at the ground for the three remaining games this season.”

Following their clash at Leichhardt with the Titans on June 5, the Tigers host Penrith at the venue three weeks late before meeting Melbourne in round 21.
