Tamou could stay in North Queensland

James Tamou is yet to make a decision on his future, the off-contract NSW prop revealing his could re-sign with North Queensland despite speculation to the contrary.

Tamou has been strongly linked with an exit from the Cowboys as the premiers face a salary cap squeeze to keep their title winning side together.

The Kangaroos and Blues front-rower was said to be fixed on a move to Sydney to link with either with Penrith or Sydney Roosters, however Tamou said he is yet to decide on where his future lies.

“I haven’t made a decision yet,” he told AAP.

“There has been a lot of talk but I just don’t know yet what I am going to do. Nothing has been decided and I am not in a rush to do that..

“I have plenty of time. I am just going to have a think about what is right for me and for my family.”

Tamou said he will wait until after the Origin series work out where his future lies.

“I have just told may manager I just want to concentrate on Origin,” he said.

“I want to put all of my focus and energy into that and then I will decide my future.

“I want to give Origin everything I can and I want to give the NSW team everything I can.

“I don’t want any distractions. When Origin is all over then I will decide my future.”
