SOUTH SYDNEY
The Rabbitohs take this game to Perth’s NIB Stadium, the same venue they defeated the Warriors at last season 30 – 13.

The Rabbitohs registered the seventh win of the season, and their sixth by a margin of 13+, when accounting for the struggling Dragons last Monday night 29 – 10.

Winger Joel Reddy score first and bagged a double for the second time in only five appearances this year and after his game last week, it’s no surprise to see him retained in the starting line up again this week as part of backline that has plenty of points in them.

The only two losses the Rabbitohs have suffered in the past eight weeks have been at the hands of the Bulldogs and Storm, two teams that possess strong forward packs who have managed to keep the Souths forwards contained for the most part.

The Warriors also boast a big pack of forwards and this will be a good test for the Rabbitohs’ forwards.

WARRIORS
The Warriors continue to improve after a poor start to the season and registered their fourth win from the past five weeks with a 38 – 18 win over Newcastle last round.

The win makes it six for the year for the Warriors and whilst they are officially twelfth on the ladder, they are only one win behind their opponents this week who occupy fourth spot!

The Warriors have built good momentum over the past month and have scored a whopping twenty-three tries in the past four matches but the Rabbitohs will be a good test on just how far they’ve come, especially when having to make the long trip from New Zealand to Perth.

The Warriors will go into this match with the same squad that was successful over the Titans in

HEAD TO HEAD
South Sydney won both clashes between this two clubs last year but margins of 2 and 17 points. They were the first victories over the Warriors in two seasons.

The last four matches have produced a total match score over 43 points or greater. With plenty of points in both sides, the Overs at 41.5 looks appealing.

Warriors Captain Simon Mannering scored a double last week and has bagged three tries in the past three matches at against the Rabbitohs.

The $4.33 about him to cross at any stage in this game, has some form around it.

News :

Wests Tigers are adamant James Tedesco’s belated decision to stick with the club is a plus for the NRL.

The rookie fullback turned his back on a big money move to Canberra late on Wednesday after initially agreeing to terms with the Raiders last week.

The move has further muddied the already murky contract situation in the NRL, highlighted also by Canterbury’s move to renege on a deal with Cronulla forward Andrew Fifita earlier this year.

But in committing to a future at the club which has brought him through the grade, Tedesco’s backflip is a good thing for rugby league, says Tigers coach Mick Potter.

“It shows something about the club and the players that we do have that he is going to sacrifice money to stay and play with his mates,” Potter said at training on Thursday.

“That is a big plus for the club and a big plus for rugby league that players want to stay and play with people they have grown up with.

“The players are buzzing this morning.

“It is a case of he is happy to be here and he always wanted to stay.

“It’s not a slight on anyone but he just wants to play with his mates.

“For young Ted it is a learning curve it is probably something he didn’t think all the way through.

“There was on a time delay really, there were some issues he hadn’t covered.

“He felt the pressure of that and probably tipped the wrong way as it turned out for him.”

Tedesco’s retention is the last in a number of promising youngsters who have recommitted to the joint venture recently including Aaron Woods, Luke Brooks, Mitchell Moses, Curtis Sironen and David Nofoaluma.

Potter said Tedesco’s turnaround was a significant vote of confidence in the future of the club.

“The players are building something here,” he said.

“They are getting on with business, they are growing together as far as their playing ability.

“They are enjoying what they are developing.

“I’m really proud of what they are doing at the moment.

“By no means have we done anything or accomplished anything but the players see the potential.”
