Tim Sheens has re-signed as Kangaroos coach for the 2015 season.

The four-time premiership-winning coach penned a one-year extension as Australian mentor, and will spearhead the Kangaroos’ challenge in their only international this year – the Anzac Test.

In an admirable effort Sheens rallied an understrength Australia to qualify for last season’s Four Nations final before losing to New Zealand in Wellington.

A number of players including Johnathan Thurston, Matt Scott and Paul Gallen will likely return for the Test against the Kiwis in Brisbane on May 1.

The world champions will have plenty of motivation against New Zealand.

The Kiwis’ back-to-back defeats of the Kangaroos during the Four Nations was the first time they had notched consecutive wins against their arch-rivals in 60 years.
