Roosters re-sign Kane Evans

The Sydney Roosters have announced the re-signing of young gun Kane Evans until the end of the 2017 season.

The 22-year-old prop made his debut against Parramatta in round two and has been named on an extended bench for this weekend’s return match with the Eels at Pirtek Stadium.

“I’ve been at the Roosters since I was 17 and the club has treated me so well ever since I got here,” Evans said.

“I’m learning so much from Robbo (coach Trent Robinson) and all the coaching staff and I’m so happy to stay with the Roosters and work towards building my career here.

“Hopefully I’ll continue to learn and improve as I play alongside the great squad here at the Roosters,” he added.

The Roosters’ chief operating officer of football, Brian Canavan, said he’s pleased to have Evans locked into the club’s long-term plans.

“Kane has been a wonderful asset to the club both on and off the field,” Canavan said.

“He has an infectious personality and is a fierce competitor, and we look forward to watching his continued development in the coming years.”

Evans made his international debut last year, playing for Fiji at the World Cup.
