Roosters’ Pearce to break his silence

Under-fire Sydney Roosters co-skipper Mitchell Pearce is to speak publicly for the first time after video footage of him simulating a sex act with a dog was aired.

Pearce’s lewd behaviour at a boozy Australia Day party has placed his career in jeopardy, with reports speculating he could be fined $50 000 and face a lengthy ban or be rubbed from the game altogether.

The NSW State of Origin five-eighth has been stood down indefinitely from club activities while the NRL club investigates the incident.

The Roosters have called a media conference for 1pm.
