Newly-crowned minor premiers the Sydney Roosters look set to be the only club to lose players through suspension for week one of the NRL finals.

Eight players have been charged by the match review committee over incidents from round 26, but only Aidan Guerra and Dylan Napa are in real danger of missing this week’s playoffs.

Guerra is facing one week on the sidelines for a `chicken wing’ tackle on South Sydney’s Kyle Turner, while Napa could be banned for three matches for a grade-two shoulder charge on Rabbitohs skipper John Sutton.

Fellow finalists Brisbane – who barely scraped into the top eight – have scored a lucky break on the suspension front, with Martin Kennedy free to play in Saturday’s first elimination final against North Queensland despite being charged with a grade-one high tackle on Melbourne’s Kevin Proctor.

Manly’s James Hasson can also escape suspension if he takes the early plea to a dangerous throw on Cowboys’ veteran Matt Scott.

Things aren’t looking so rosy for the Gold Coast, however, who are likely to be without three of their players early next season.

Beau Falloon and Tom Kingston were each hit with grade-two dangerous throw charges over a tackle on Canterbury five-eighth Josh Reynolds, attracting a minimum two-week ban.

Dave Taylor is facing at least a one-match suspension for a head slam on the Bulldogs’ David Klemmer.

Canberra’s Brett White was also cited over a high tackle in Saturday’s win over Parramatta, but won’t be too concerned – he is retiring.
