Roosters name Pearce for NRL finals

Playmaker Mitchell Pearce has been named by Sydney Roosters for Friday night’s NRL semi-final with the Bulldogs.

Pearce has missed the last three weeks with a hamstring complaint but has been named in the starting side for the Roosters’ knockout final.

He faces a fitness test later in the week with Jackson Hastings on standby on the bench.

The Bulldogs have Lloyd Perrett as cover for second-rower Frank Pritchard (grade one dangerous contact) who will have his fate decided at the NRL judiciary on Tuesday night.

Pritchard was cited for kneeing St George Illawarra five-eighth Gareth Widdop in Saturday night’s 11-10 elimination final win.

North Queensland and Cronulla have named unchanged starting sides for their Saturday night semi-final in Townsville.
