Richardson set to exit NRL premiers Souths

South Sydney are expected to announce long-serving chief executive Shane Richardson will stand down from his position after 10 years with the NRL club.

Richardson, who has helped to oversee the club’s renaissance from perennial battlers to a 21st premiership last year during his reign, will hold a media conference on Wednesday afternoon alongside Souths chairman Nick Pappas.

He joined the club from Penrith in 2005 and had also held similar positions with Cronulla and Super League club Hull FC.

There has been speculation Richardson will take up a position with the NRL.
