Evergreen Wests Tigers winger Pat Richards says he’s focused on maintaining his NRL form and not a possible Origin call up for NSW.
The 33-year-old, in his 100th first-grade appearance, was inspirational in Monday’s breakthrough win over Parramatta – setting up two tries and adding a four-pointer of his own.
His performance has prompted talk of a State of Origin berth for the goal-kicking finisher.
“If it (a call from Blues coach Laurie Daley) came it’d be great, but I’m sure it won’t,” Richards said on Wednesday.
“I suppose if a few more fall over … but who knows. It’s not really on my radar at the moment. I’m trying to play well for the Tigers.”
