Raiders lock in star hooker Hodgson

Canberra have locked in hooker Josh Hodgson until at least the end of the 2018 NRL season.

The English international, who made his debut in 2015, has agreed to extend his contract that was due to expire at the end of this season by two years.

It follows a host of other recent big re-signings, including Blake Austin, Josh Papalii, Shannon Boyd, Joey Leilua and Jack Wighton.

The Raiders are also expected to finalise a deal with Newcastle back-rower Joseph Tapine for 2016 after he was granted an early release by the Knights on Tuesday.

Tapine has already signed with Canberra on a four-year deal from next season.
