Joseph Paulo has signed with Cronulla after he was released from the final year of his Parramatta contract.
The Sharks picked up the Samoa and USA international on a two-year NRL deal after he was told by the Eels he was free to negotiate with rival clubs.
“Joseph is a skilful player and he will be a welcome addition to our squad,” Sharks coach Shane Flanagan said.
“We’re putting together a strong roster ahead of 2016 and Paulo will only add to what we’re looking to build at the club for next season and beyond.”
The back-rower moved to Parramatta from Penrith in 2011 and played 86 NRL games in the blue and gold.
Paulo led the USA to a surprise quarter-final berth at the 2014 Rugby League World Cup but had an indifferent 2015, spending time in reserve grade.
