The NRL has confirmed they will announce a new broadcast rights deal on Friday morning.

ARLC Chairman John Grant and representatives from the Nine Network and Fox Sports will announce the five-year deal which is expected to be worth more than $1.8 billion.

Nine is believed to have sold their Saturday evening telecast to Fox Sports, while the pay TV company will also simulcasts all games live.

Monday night football is also set to be scrapped for the 2017 season, with a second Friday night match expected to be shown exclusively on Fox Sports at 6pm.
