The NRL have finally stopped propping up the Wests Tigers after the joint-venture club settled on an $8.5 million deal to secure its financial future.
The club announced a new ownership structure on Friday, with Wests moving to 75 per cent ownership and Balmain retaining 25 per cent.
The arrangement means Wests hold five of the positions on a revised nine-man board, and Balmain holds two spots and two independent seats.
