McLean re-signs with Storm

Melbourne prop Jordan McLean has re-signed with the NRL club for two more seasons.

The new contract will keep McLean with the Storm until the end of 2017.

The 115kg 23-year-old is considered a key plank in the Storm’s forward pack for the coming years alongside New Zealand internationals Jesse Bromwich and Kevin Proctor.

“I’m really happy to be staying at Melbourne Storm. I have a lot of good mates here and I’m really excited about the next two years,” McLean said.

Storm football director Frank Ponissi welcomed the news.

“Jordan’s signing is terrific news for Melbourne Storm, its a great announcement for our club three weeks out from the 2015 season starting,” Ponissi said.

“He brings plenty of size and power to our line-up and works well alongside our starting front-rowers.”

McLean played 16 NRL games for the Storm in 2014 in a solid year in which he was awarded the club’s most improved player.

McLean was handed a seven-game suspension by the NRL judiciary last season for his role in the tackle that left Alex McKinnon with severe spinal damage.
