Manly prop Starling charged for high shot

Manly prop Josh Starling has been charged for a high tackle in Friday’s loss to Parramatta, but will still be free to play in next week’s must-win match against Canterbury.

The NRL match review committee slapped Starling with a grade-one careless high tackle for his 49th-minute shot on Eels forward Tepai Moeroa, who didn’t return to the field after failing a concussion test.

The charge attracts only 75 base penalty points and 56 points with an early guilty plea, with either amount allowing Starling to take on the Bulldogs on Thursday.
