Knight’s McManus sidelined indefinitely

Newcastle Knights winger James McManus has been ruled out for the 2016 NRL season due to complications resulting from concussion.

McManus, who hasn’t played since round 20 last year, has been receiving ongoing medical treatment.

“I need rest and time to work through my options,” the one-time State of Origin finisher said in a brief statement released by the Knights on Tuesday afternoon.

“This has been a difficult time and I certainly appreciate everyone’s support.”

In the meantime, McManus has taken up a position with the club’s commercial team.
