Knights lose Cuthbertson for 4-6 weeks

England-bound Newcastle forward Adam Cuthbertson will miss up to six weeks of NRL action after injuring his knee in Sunday’s loss to the Warriors.

The Knights on Monday confirmed Cuthbertson suffered grade-two medial ligament damage in the match at Mt Smart Stadium, keeping him out for at least a month.

The 29-year-old is leaving the club at the end of the season after signing a four-year deal with Super League outfit Leeds Rhinos last week.

Meanwhile Jarrod Mullen will be assessed this week for a shoulder knock at the weekend.

But it’s not all bad news for Newcastle, with Timana Tahu set for a return following a knee reconstruction in the off-season.

The 33-year-old has not played since having the surgery last November.

Beau Scott (neck), Akuila Uate (knee) and Jake Mamo (back) are also expected to be available for Sunday’s clash with the Wests Tigers at Hunter Stadium.
