Jennings cleared to play Origin III

Sydney Rooster centre Michael Jennings is free to take his place in the NSW side for the State of Origin decider despite his arrest on the weekend.

Jennings was stood down from Monday’s match against St George Illawarra and fined $10,000 by his club and the NRL integrity unit after his arrest for offensive behaviour and hindering police.

The full fine was $20,000 with $10,000 suspended.

NSW coach Laurie Daley said he supported the punishment meted out to Jennings and he would be available for selection for the July 8 decider at Suncorp Stadium.

“I’m disappointed in Michael because he hasn’t lived up to the expectations that I have of NSW State of Origin players, and that the team sets for themselves. The NSWRL supports the action of the Roosters,” Daley said in a statement.
