Idris out for NRL season with ruptured ACL

Penrith centre Jamal Idris will miss the rest of the NRL season after being diagnosed with a ruptured ACL.

Idris sustained the knee injury in Sunday’s 22-12 win over Manly and scans confirmed on Monday the 24-year-old faces reconstruction surgery that will sideline him long-term.

The news deepens the Panthers’ injury woes, with halfback Peter Wallace set to have surgery on a knee problem and fears Elijah Taylor may have suffered a long-term cartilage injury during Sunday’s match.
