Hunt earns Kangaroos squad call-up

Ben Hunt’s breakthrough form in 2014, has been rewarded with selection in the Kangaroos train-on squad for the Four Nations.

The Brisbane playmaker was a key figure in the Broncos’ surge to the finals series this year and was added to coach Tim Sheens’ squad on Monday alongside six teammates for November’s tournament.

Corey Parker, Dale Copley, Josh McGuire, Justin Hodges, Matt Gillett and Sam Thaiday were also pitched into the squad after the Broncos’ elimination final loss to North Queensland on Saturday.

Melbourne’s “Big Three” – Cameron Smith, Billy Slater and Cooper Cronk – also join the squad after the Storm’s loss to Canterbury on Sunday, alongside teammates Will Chambers and Ryan Hoffman.

Those selected in the squad are also in contention to be selected for the Prime Minister’s XIII match against Papua New Guinea on September 29.
