Hull KR win Super League derby

Hull KR piled the pressure on Hull coach Lee Radford as they secured bragging rights in the first cross-city meeting of the Super League season.

The Robins were 20-6 victors at the KC Stadium, leaving their black-and-white adversaries second from bottom after eight rounds with just four points, and with the prospect of missing the mid-season split a very realistic one.

Kieron Dixon’s pace and former Canberra Raider Terry Campese’s craft were too much for Hull to handle, before considering the dominance of their pack and the metronomic boot of Josh Mantellato.

Campese and Dixon scored tries along with Shaun Lunt for Hull KR while former Newcastle Knight Mantellato slotted four goals.

In other matches, Catalans thumped Wakefield 40-4 while Widnes defeated Warrington 30-10.
