Just another game? I’ve moved on?

Nope. Gold Coast’s Josh Hoffman isn’t using any of the tired old cliches ahead of Friday’s NRL derby against Brisbane.

The ex-Bronco says he drew a big circle around the round five clash with his former club as soon as the NRL draw was released and he can’t wait to take on his old teammates.

Hoffman was the big off-season capture by the Titans, the New Zealand international’s recruitment that much sweeter as he came from Red Hill to Robina.

“Really looking forward to the challenge,” Hoffman said.

“I haven’t got any text messages from the boys as yet but as we get closer I’m sure I’ll get a few.

“I’ll let them fire the first shot and I’ll reply with an answer on gameday.

“It was the first game that I was looking for, checking out the fixture and what round we’re playing the Broncos.”

Hoffman spent seven seasons at the Broncos before leaving at the end of last year frustrated by a lack of opportunity to play in his favoured fullback position.

He wasn’t afraid to pass on some of his inside knowledge during the Titans’ team meeting on Tuesday.

On the field, the 27-year-old has made a solid, if unspectacular, start to his time with the Titans.

While he’s been named for the past three weeks at fullback, Hoffman has been swapping his role throughout matches with centre Will Zillman.

He says that rotation is working well despite some feeling coach Neil Henry needs to make a more permanent decision to his backline structure.

“It’s been working well for us as far as it’s been going,” Hoffman said.

“We’ll keep doing that. Keep rotating and hopefully it gets the best out of us.”

The Titans have made one enforced change to their team to take on the Broncos, with Kierran Moseley starting at hooker in place of suspended Beau Falloon.

Moseley missed last weekend’s 24-22 win over Cronulla due to knee soreness but comes straight back in with Falloon having copped a two-game ban for a dangerous throw against the Sharks.
