Hodges eyes Suncorp finale

Brisbane captain Justin Hodges admits he is getting a little emotional as he contemplates his final game at Suncorp Stadium.

But he does not expect any sympathy from arch-rival Michael Jennings when the Broncos host defending premiers Sydney Roosters in Friday night’s NRL grand final qualifier.

“We’ve had some great battles. He brings the best out of me,” said 33-year-old Hodges, who will retire at the end of his 16th NRL season.

“It will be sad but I can’t wait to run onto Suncorp one last time.”

The winner will play the Melbourne-North Queensland preliminary final victor in next week’s season decider in Sydney.
