Halatau announces NRL retirement

Wests Tigers veteran Dene Halatau will hang up his boots at the end of the 2016 NRL season.

The 33-year-old utility, who has played 241 games for the Tigers and Canterbury, won a premiership with the merged club in 2005 before returning from a a four-year stint at the Bulldogs in 2014.

“I felt as though the time is right and it’s something that I’ve been thinking about for a long time now,” Halatau said.
