Grand final teams arrive at ANZ Stadium

South Sydney and Canterbury have arrived at ANZ Stadium for Sunday night’s NRL grand final.

A half-full stadium cheered as the arrival of the Rabbitohs and Bulldogs players was broadcast on the big screen.

A sellout crowd of over 83,000 is expected to fill the Olympic venue as Souths chase their first premiership in 43 years.

The Rabbitohs will start the game as the hottest favourites in the NRL era against an injury-hit Dogs who are missing their captain and hooker Michael Ennis with a fractured foot.

Josh Reynolds and rookie Moses Mbye are expected to fill the dummy-half duties for the Dogs.

Halfback Trent Hodkinson will carry a knee injury into the game.

Back-up rake Apisai Koroisau will take the place of suspended hooker Issac Luke in the Rabbitohs’ line-up.

There have been no reported problems for fans entering the ground as the temperature beings to fall from a high of 32 degrees.

The Warriors claimed the first trophy of the day with a 34-32 win over Brisbane in the Holden Cup under-20s.

The NRL grand final kicks off at 7.22pm, with guitar legend Slash to provide the pre-game entertainment.
