NRL star Andrew Fifita is set to play in Cronulla’s crucial NRL clash with Canterbury on Sunday despite facing allegations of threatening a referee at a rugby league game in Sydney’s west.

Three officials reportedly had to restrain the Sharks and NSW State of Origin forward after he allegedly told the referee “I’ll smash you” during an incident involving his twin brother David.

Chief executive Lyall Gorman says while the club has a “zero tolerance” to any behaviour against the club’s values, both brothers remained available to tackle the Bulldogs at Belmore.
