Dugan cleared of major injury

Josh Dugan’s ankle injury is not as serious as first thought and he is expected to be named in the St George Illawarra side for their NRL clash with the Wests Tigers on Monday.

It was feared Dugan would miss a large chunk of the NRL season after suffering what initially appeared to be a serious ankle injury in Monday night’s 12-4 loss to Melbourne.

Dugan suffered a syndesmosis sprain late in the Jubilee Oval clash however the Dragons on Tuesday received good news with scans coming back better than expected and cleared him of major injury.

The 24-year-old fullback will be monitored by Dragons doctors during the week and is a possibility to take on the Tigers.

The Dragons will name their team to take on the Tigers at 5pm AEDT on Tuesday.
