Dragons handed Dugan injury boost

St George Illawarra have received a major boost after scans revealed star fullback Josh Dugan has sustained a minor knee sprain.

The NSW representative limped off during Saturday’s Charity Shield clash with South Sydney and it was feared he could miss the start of the NRL season.

But he has been cleared to make the journey to the UK later this week to play in the World Club Series against Warrington.

“Josh has undergone his MRI scans which have indicated he has a small knee sprain which will not impede him being able to travel to the UK for the World Club Series,” said Dragons physio Dan Lawson.

“We expect him to resume regular training once the travelling squad commences their preparations for the match against the Warrington Wolves later in the week.”
