Brisbane back-rower Sam Thaiday says Daly Cherry-Evans’ contract drama is one of the reasons behind Manly’s horror NRL form.
Cherry-Evans must end months of speculation and decide by Tuesday’s deadline whether to remain with Manly or honour a four-year Gold Coast deal.
“It is a huge distraction for a team, not knowing what your key player is doing – I think it is an underlying factor for the reason why they are playing the way they are playing,” Thaiday said of last-placed Manly ahead of their Friday night clash.
