David Fifita re-signs with Cronulla

Andrew Fifita’s twin brother David will continue to play alongside him at Cronulla for two more NRL seasons, after re-signing with the Sharks on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old prop joined his brother at the Sharks this season, after leaving French club Lzignan Sangliers.

He has battled injury through parts of the season, playing three games for the last-placed Sharks.

David, who has been ruled out of the rest of the season due to a foot injury, announced his re-signing on his Instagram account.

“proud to announce I have just signed for another 2 years!! Couldn’t give up on the dream #playingALONGsideMYtwin @andrewfifita #upupcronulla,” he wrote.

Andrew re-signed with the Sharks in April for four more years after his multi-million dollar deal with Canterbury spectacularly fell apart.

Already representing NSW and Australia, he has also struggled with injury this year, returning from six weeks out with a wrist injury in the Sharks’ last-start loss to Newcastle, and largely failing to repeat his breakout form of last season.

Cronulla host North Queensland in round 19 on Friday night, with Andrew named to start at prop.
