Cronk wins Churchill Medal

Melbourne halfback Cooper Cronk was the Clive Churchill Medal winner in the Storm’s 14-4 NRL grand final win over Canterbury.

Cronk won the man-of-the-match award on the back of a brilliant first-half effort where he had a hand in all three of the Storm’s tries.

The brilliant halfback popped a wonderful short ball for Ryan Hoffman to open the scoring on the left edge inside the first 10 minutes.

Cronk was at his best again in the 33rd minute when he double pumped before passing short to a flying Billy Slater to crash over for the Storm.

Then on the stroke of halftime, Cronk produced a lovely cross-field kick for leaping winger Justin O’Neill who scored in the corner.
