Carlton’s Casboult to miss 6-8 AFL weeks

Carlton spearhead Levi Casboult has avoided a season-ending knee injury but will sit out at least the next six weeks after breaking his leg.

The key forward slumped to the ground in the opening minutes of his side’s match with Port Adelaide after marking strongly in a contest with Power defender Tom Jonas.

Casboult couldn’t get up, grimacing and calling for assistance from the Carlton bench.

He played no further part in the match, transferred to the Carlton rooms and later receiving scans on his left knee.

They showed a hairline fracture of his left tibia, which will not require surgery but will sit Casboult out for 6-8 weeks.
