Canberra Raiders vs South Sydney Rabbitohs 2014 NRL Round 20 preview, tips and teams

Although their record reads only one win from four matches over the past month, the Raiders’ efforts haven’t been too bad.

They were defeated by 8 points against Canterbury, lost by a point to West Tigers, defeated the Gold Coast away from home and in their most recent clash, against the Storm in Melbourne, were still in the game well into the second half before losing it 28 – 14.

They head home now for the first time since round 15.

The Raiders will field the same side as they did against Melbourne, a strong line-up that includes fullback Anthony Milford and the competition’s leading point scorer Jarrod Croker.

The pair has scored five tries between them in the past three games and will the pick of the Raiders’ side to cross again.

RABBITOHS
It took them a while but the Rabbitohs finally got the better of the Eels last round, winning 32 – 12 after scoring three tries in the final fifteen minutes of the match

It was a win the Rabbitohs needed to get their season back on track after consecutive losses to North Queensland and a disappointing effort against the Titans.

It still wasn’t the Rabbitohs at their best and there’s improvement that needs to be made as they face one of the toughest roads into the finals which includes Manly, Brisbane, Canterbury and Roosters.

The Rabbitohs have named a strong line-up for this clash, the first time they’ve been able to do so in a number or weeks, and welcome back Ben Te’o to the forward pack.

HEAD TO HEAD
The Raiders recorded their first win over the Rabbitohs in six clashes earlier this year with an unexpected 30 – 18 victory at ANZ Stadium.

The Rabbitohs have again been upset in recent weeks as well so they should be right on guard for this clash.

Last week’s win over the Eels, whilst not flash, was step in the right direction and given their previous four wins over the Raiders were all by big margins, combined with line-up they’ve named for Monday night, there’s no reason why the Rabbitohs shouldn’t win this game comfortably.
