Bellamy agrees to new NRL Storm deal

Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy has agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Storm, taking him through until the end of the 2018 NRL season.

Bellamy’s previous deal was due to run out at the end of this year.

The new contract will extend his time as Melbourne head coach to a remarkable 16 seasons – a tenure which included the 2012 premiership.

The Storm also won the 2007 and 2009 grand finals, only to be later stripped of the titles for systemic salary cap breaches.

Bellamy had made it clear he wanted his future sorted out before the Storm opened their 2016 campaign against St George Illawarra on Monday night.

The 56-year-old will front a media conference at AAMI Park at 1215 (AEDT) on Friday.
