Barba, Sims to miss two NRL games each

Cronulla’s Ben Barba and Newcastle’s Korbin Sims will both miss two NRL matches after taking early guilty pleas on charges from third-round games.

Wests Tigers winger Pat Richards has been outed for one match.

Barba took the early plea on two charges stemming from the Sharks’ loss to Melbourne on Saturday at AAMI Park.

The struggling playmaker will miss the Sharks’ matches against Gold Coast and the Sydney Roosters.

The former Dally M Medallist will be free to play again in the round-six clash with Newcastle at Remondis Stadium.

Sims will return in the same fixture after also taking the plea on two separate charges from the Knights’ win on Sunday over Gold Coast.

Richards won’t be available for the Tigers’ round-four match-up with Canterbury on Friday at ANZ Stadium.

Canberra back-rower Shaun Fensom has elected to have his grade-one dangerous contact charge heard at Wednesday night’s judiciary.

Fensom was hit with the charge for a first-half tackle on St George Illawarra centre Euan Aitken in the Dragons’ win on Saturday in the nation’s capital.

Roosters duo Sam Moa and Boyd Cordner both face one-match bans due to charges from the Tricolour’s win on Monday over Penrith.

The representative duo have until 12pm (AEDT) Wednesday to enter their pleas.
