Auva’a out of Rabbitohs US trip: reports

The NRL is tipped to ban controversial South Sydney player Kirisome Auva’a from the club’s upcoming US training camp.

Rabbitohs players leave for the Arizona high-altitude camp on Friday, but Auva’a is expected to have his ticket revoked, News Corp reports.

The 22-year-old reportedly won’t be part of the overseas trip irrespective of the NRL and Rabbitohs’ final decision on his future.

Auva’a pleaded guilty to drunkenly attacking his ex-girlfriend in January.

The 98kg centre pushed the woman to the floor and punched holes into the wall of her home in southwest Melbourne, before grabbing her arms and slinging her into a wall.

When her housemates called the police, he fled.

Auva’a was fined $3000 but escaped conviction when he fronted the Melbourne Magistrates Court last week.

He had copped a $2000 fine and week ban from off-season training from the Rabbitohs earlier this year but returned for the remainder, savouring South Sydney’s NRL premiership triumph last month.
