Wests Tigers five-eighth Braith Anasta will serve the first suspension of his 14-year NRL career after pleading guilty to a shoulder charge on Manly winger David Williams.

Anasta was charged by the NRL match review committee on Monday with a grade two shoulder charge and opted for an early guilty plea to avoid risking a two-game ban.

A veteran of 280 NRL matches, plus 10 State of Origin appearances for NSW and four Tests for Australia, Anasta will miss the Tigers’ hosting of North Queensland at Campbelltown on Saturday night.

His unavailability comes on top of the Tigers losing star fullback James Tedesco on Monday to an ankle injury.

St George Illawarra forward Jack De Belin and Melbourne’s Dayne Weston also accepted one-match bans on Tuesday.

De Belin decided not to contest a grade-one dangerous throw charge on South Sydney forward Sam Burgess and will miss the the Dragons’ Monday night clash with the Storm in Melbourne.

Weston took the early guilty plea after being charged with dangerous contact – unnecessary head/neck pressure on Gold Coast winger David Mead.

He will also be sidelined for the Storm-Dragons game at AAMI Park.
