Jarryd Hayne appears headed back to the San Francisco 49ers.

Comcast Sportsnet journalist Matt Maiocco reported not one of the 31 NFL clubs claimed Hayne, so the 49ers, who sacked the Australian on Saturday, can sign him again.

The 49ers are desperate for running backs and a punt returner after injuries to Reggie Bush, Carlos Hyde and Mike Davis, but they could also decline to sign the former rugby league star.
