Australian Daniel Ricciardo has claimed his third race victory of the season by winning the Belgian Grand Prix.

The youngster’s dominant effort in Belgium backed up a thrilling victory in Hungary in July, which itself followed his maiden F1 win at the Canadian Grand Prix in June.

Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg finished second on Sunday, the German world championship leader having survived another run-in with teammate Lewis Hamilton, whose tyre he punctured on the second lap, leading to the Briton’s eventual retirement.

Finland’s Valtteri Bottas in a Williams took the final spot on the podium from compatriot Kimi Raikkonen, whose fourth place was the Ferrari driver’s best of the season.
